In small increments, add the flour mixing well in between each addition. Dump dough onto counter and kneed for a few good strokes. Cover in wax paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Roll out dough to 1/4" thick Press springlerle board pattern into dough and cut and place on greased and floured cookie sheet. -OR- roll out dough and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters and place on greased and floured cookie sheet. Let stand over night. Bake in slow oven (300 degrees F) for 30-40 minutes. The cookie is really hard to bite and is just right for a cup of tea and dunking. We lovingly refer to them as “adult teething cookies” or “hockey pucks”.
