Ingredients

1 Tbsp butter

1 Tbsp flour

½ tsp salt

½ tsp sugar

pinch pepper to taste

½ small onion finely diced

¼ cup milk

½ cup sour cream

2 cans (~16 oz ea) green beans

1½ cups shredded Swiss cheese

½ cup corn flake crumbs mixed with 2 Tbsp melted butter

Preparation

In a medium skillet over medium-high heat melt butter and saute onion until translucent. Blend in flour, salt, sugar and pepper. Cook until bubbly and beginning to brown (about 2 minutes). Blend in milk. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, then beans. Fold in cheese. Transfer to an oven-safe 1½ qt buttered casserole. Top with corn flakes. Bake in a 400°F oven for 20 minutes.
