Ingredients
1 Pie Shell
2 cups Diced Ham
3 cups Emmental Cheese Shredded, divided
3 Shallots Diced
8 Eggs
1/2 cup Cream
1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt, fresh ground
3/4 teaspoon Black Pepper, fresh ground
3/4 cup Broccoli Florets, steamed
Preparation
Make pastry using Nana’s Pastry recipe, roll out, and make a 9" pie shell
Sprinkle a couple of handfuls of shredded Emmental cheese in bottom of pie shell
Add half of the diced ham
Saute chopped shallots
Sprinkle broccoli over ham and shallots
Add remainder of diced ham
Add remainder of shallots
Sprinkle some more shredded Emmental on top
Beat together eggs, cream, salt and pepper, and remainder of Emmental
Pour over contents of pie shell
Bake at 425 F, on middle shelf of oven, for 15 minutes
Lower heat to 375F and continue to cook for 25 min, or until centre is dry when a knife is inserted.
