Ingredients

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 large onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound ground turkey

2 cans black beans, 15 ounce or 560 grams, drained (reserve liquid)

1 can refried black beans, 15 ounce or 560 grams

1-1/2 tablespoons mild chili powder

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon dried basil

1-1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

1 can crushed tomatoes, 14 ounce or 500 grams

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1/2 jalpeno pepper, minced with seeds in

1/2 teaspoon or salt to taste

Preparation

Heat oil in a dutch oven or large pot over medium heat.

Stir in onion, jalapeno and garlic; saute until onion is translucent.

Add seasonings and continue to saute for 1 minute.

Add turkey and stir until meat is browned.

Add beans, tomatoes, and vinegar. Add reserved liquid from beans as desired.

Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 hour.

Adjust seasonings and serve with corn bread.
