Ingredients
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg white
1 Tablespoon water
1 pound pecan halves
Preparation
Preheat oven to 250 (or 275) Mix both sugars, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Set aside. Whisk egg whites in large bowl with water just until combined. Toss in pecans until evenly moistened. Mix in sugar mixture until evenly coated. Spread pecans on foil covered baking sheet in a single layer. Stir as pouring pecans to make sure all the sugar mixture is on the pecans. Bake for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. I have sometimes baked an extra 15 minutes if pecans still seem moist.
