Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1 2/3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Two 1 oz squares of unsweetened chocolate - melted
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup milk
confectioner’s sugar
Preparation
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixer, cream together the shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in the eggs, then the chocolate. Alternate adding in the dry ingredients and milk. Mix until well-blended. Chill for 3 hours. Roll into balls, then roll each ball in confectioner’s sugar. Place 2" apart on a foil-lined baking sheet for 10 minutes. Leave on the cookie sheet to cool for a moment before moving to a cooling rack.
