Ingredients

1pkg yeast, dry, active

1cp water, warm (105f-115f)

3tbs sugar (or substitute)

2tbs shortening

1egg, large

0.5tbs salt (or substitute)

3-3.5cp flour, all purpose

1tsp nonstick element (grease)

1tbs butter (or substitute)

Preparation

  1. Combine yeast and warm water in a 1cp liquid measuring cup. Let stand for 5mins

  2. Combine yeast mixture, sugar, shortening, egg, salt, and ½ flour in a large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed w/ electric mixer until smooth; gradually stir in remaining flour to make a smooth dough.

  3. Place dough in greased bowl, turning to grease top side. Cover and let rise in a warm place (no higher than 85f) free from drafts for 1hr OR until dough doubles in size.

  4. Punch dough down; turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 times.

  5. Pull dough apart into 1in pieces Form pieces into small rectangles. Stack rectangles into a greased bundt pan (stack like monkeys sleeping/dominos that have fallen onto each other).

  6. Bake @ 375f for 10 minutes, and then remove. Drizzle melted butter on top. Let cool; then serve and enjoy!
