Ingredients

2 1/2 c flour

3/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder

1 t baking powder

1/4 t salt

1 c unsalted butter at room temp

3/4 c packed light brown sugar

3/4 c sugar

2 eggs

2 t vanilla

1/4 c hot coffee or water

1 1/2 c M&M’s

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 375. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat butter in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Add both sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla.
  3. On low speed, beat flour mixture. Stir in hot coffee. Fold in M&M’s.
  4. Drop batter by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 375 for 8-11 minutes or until set. Let cool slightly on baking sheets. Transfer cookies to wireracks to cool.
