Ingredients
2 cups raisins – softened in hot water; drained
1 cup margarine – softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon water
2 each eggs
2-1/4 cups flour – sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Soak raisins for 20 minutes in hot water; drain well.
Preheat oven to 375*F.
Beat margarine, sugars, vanilla, water and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy and thoroughly blended.
By hand, stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until well mixed. Stir in raisins and chocolate chips.
Spoon dough by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. Allow 1-1/2 to 2 inches between cookies for spreading.
Bake for 8 minutes or until cookies are nicely browned, depending on how crisp or well done you like them
