Ingredients

1 cup Filling: water

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups Topping: flour

1 cup dark brown sugar

1 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, diced, room temperature

4 cups thinly sliced apples

Preparation

Filling: Combine water, sugar and cornstarch and cook, stirring, over low heat until thick.

Add cinnamon, butter and vanilla. Cool.

Topping: Mix all dry ingredients. Place half in square pan.

Mix cooled sauce with sliced apples. Add to crust. Top with remaining crumble.

Bake 350* for 1 hour.
