Ingredients

8 lb. ground beef

8 cups chopped onion

8 cans (1 lb 12 oz each) tomatoes

8 cans (1 lb each) kidney or other beans, drained (reserve liquid)

2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce

1/4 cup sugar

6 tbsp. chili powder

3 tbsp. salt

Preparation

Cook and stir ground beef and onion in large heavy roaster until meat is browned and onion is tender. Stir in tomatoes, liquid from beans, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Simmer uncovered 1 hr 15 min. or until of desired consistency. Stir occasionally.
