Ingredients

6 egg yolks

6 egg whites

1 quart half and half

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup brandy (or bourbon or 1/2 of each)

dash salt

Preparation

Beat egg yolks until very light. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Gradually add liquor and cream. Beat egg whiles very stiff and fold into the mixture. Serve chilled, with a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired.
