Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Beef stock

3 tablespoons Tomato paste

1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 stalk Garlic clove

1 pound Rare roast beef, external fat removed, thinly sliced

2 heads Green peppers, cut in lengthwise slivers

4 loaves Italian bread , 4-5 inches long

1 cup Water

1 cup Giardiniera

1 Bay leaf

Preparation

  1. Combine beef stock, water, tomato paste, red pepper, salt, garlic and a bay leaf in a skillet. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Adjust seasonings to taste.

  2. Add roast beef and green pepper. Cook uncovered for 15 minutes. Heat bread.
