Ingredients
2 cups Whole Milk
1/2 Vanilla Bean Pod, Split
1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon Cloves
1/8 teaspoon Chipotle Chile Powder (optional)
4 tablespoons Packed Brown Sugar
3 ounces Mexican Chocolate (or good quality unsweetened chocolate)
2 ounces Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Preparation
In a small saucepan, add milk, vanilla bean pod and all of the spices (everything but the chocolate, sugar and bourbon). Bring to a simmer over low heat to allow spices to infuse the milk. Once the milk is simmering, slowly add the chocolate and sugar. Continuously whisk until everything is combined and frothy. Line up two mugs and pour one ounce of bourbon into each. Add a cup of hot chocolate to each, top with homemade whipped cream and grate chocolate on top for garnish. Enjoy immediately!
