Ingredients

3-1/2 lbs blood oranges, sliced into 1/4 inch slices, quartered

2-/12 cups of sugar

1 package of sure jell

zest of one lemon

juice of one lemon

1/2 cup water

Preparation

Cook orange slices, lemon zest and juice, 1/4 cup sugar mixed with sure jell and 1/2 cup of water over medium-high heat until at a rolling boil. Add remaining sugar, return to rolling boil for one minute.

Using large funnel, spoon into warm, sterilized 8 oz jelly jars, leaving a bit of room at the top. Add lids, screw rings on. Place in water, bring to a low boil for 10 minutes. Remove jars and cool.
