Ingredients

2 Egg Whites at room temperature

1/8 TSP of Cream of Tartar

1/8 TSP Salt

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 TSP Vanilla

1/2 Finely Chopped Walnuts

Preparation

In a large bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt until soft peaks form. Add vanilla and slowly beat in sugar until very stiff and glossy. Fold in nuts. Spread in an 8 or 9" circle on parchment or a silicone mat on a cookie sheet. Form a rim around the edge to hold the filling. Bake at 300 for 50 minutes.. Turn oven off, and leave meringue in oven for 1 hour. Cool. Check while cooking to make sure it does not get over done.
