Ingredients
3 ripe/overripe bananas
2 eggs
1/2 c shortening (good ole Crisco)
2 c Flour
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
1/2 c sour milk (add 1 tsp vinegar)
Walnuts
Preparation
Mash bananas and add eggs and shortening. Measure out the flour, baking soda and baking powder then add to banana mixture and mix well. Add sour milk slowly. Stir in course chopped nuts. Pour into 1 or 2 greased loaf pans. Let sit for 10 minutes. Bake at 350 until top cracks and toothpick comes out clean. Be sure not to over bake. Set pans on a cooling rack on their sides until cool. Then you have to taste a slice while it’s warm with real butter spread over it. Heaven!
