Ingredients
3 lbs of ground beef
⢠1 Tbls vegetable oil
⢠Salt to taste
⢠½ cup chopped onions
⢠¼ cup chili powder
⢠1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
⢠1 teaspoon paprika
⢠1 teaspoon ground cumin
⢠¼ teaspoon ground allspice and nutmeg
⢠¼ teaspoon ground cloves
⢠¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes (be careful not to make it too hot)
⢠1 tbls sugar
⢠1 Bay leaf
⢠6 oz dark semi-sweet chocolate
⢠1 cup orange juice
⢠2 teaspoon cornstarch in 8oz of water â" dissolved
⢠1 - 12 oz can tomato paste
⢠6 cups of water (less beef water)
Preparation
- Sauté onions in olive oil or grease from boiling ground beef
- Add beef water and remaining water to make 8 cups and mix in coarnstarch, to onions,
- Add remaining ingredients
- Cook in slow cooker for 3 - 4 hours
- Add 1 cup beef broth at a time as needed
- Refrigerate overnight if time permits
- Remove bay leaf, reheat slowly
- Serve with hotdogs, onions, spaghetti and Cheddar cheese as you like!
