Ingredients
5 cups flour
1 package dry yeast
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 each eggs
3 tablespoons orange juice
4 teaspoons grated orange peel
Vanilla Icing
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons milk (more if needed)
Preparation
Combine 2 cups flour and yeast in large bowl. Combine milk, butter sugar and salt in saucepan; heat on low until very warm (120-130*F).
Add milk to flour mixture. Add eggs; beat 1/2 minute on low, scrapping bowl constantly. Beat 3 minutes on high.
Add 1 cup flour, beat 1 minute longer. Add OJ and peel. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.
Knead on floured surface 5 to 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl; turning to grease all sides. Cover. Let rise in warm place 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
Punch down; divide dough in half. Shape each half into 3 equal portions and roll into 14-inch long rolls.
Braid. Place on baking sheet; cover; let rise until doubled.
Bake at 350 degrees or 20-25 minutes or until golden. Cool. Drizzle with Vanilla Icing.
Vanilla Icing Combine confectioner’s sugar and milk.
