Ingredients

2 thin slices of fresh orange

2 thin slices of fresh ginger

2 tablespoons of fresh mint leaves

½ teaspoon fennel seed

A few whole black peppercorns

Honey (optional)

Preparation

Place the orange, ginger, and mint in a tea or coffee cup. Using a muddler, lightly mash to release their essence. Crush fennel and black peppercorns using a mortar and pestle (or a meat mallet or heavy pan and a zip top bag if you don’t have one). Place the fennel and black peppercorns in a tea bag or tea ball and place in the cup. Add hot water and let sit two minutes before drinking. Sweeten with a little honey if desired.
