Ingredients

3/4 cup Yellow dal

3/4 cup Basmati Rice

2 tablespoons Ghee

1 tablespoon Cumin

2 teaspoons Salt

6 cups Water

Preparation

  1. Rinse and soak rice and dal

  2. Melt ghee in pressure cooker, add cumin and roast until popping/browning

  3. Pour off water from Rice/Dal and add Rice/Dal to pressure cooker

  4. Add salt, water, place lid on pressure cooker and cook until it has whistled for 7 minutes

  5. Release pressure, stir and serve
