Ingredients

5 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Separate the eggs. Beat whites until they stand up in soft peaks, and then beat in 1/4 cup sugar one tsp at a time. Without washing beaters, beat the yolks and lemon juice until thick and lemon colored, and then beat in 3/4 cup sugar. Pour over egg whites and fold. Sift flour and salt over the mixture and fold. Spoon into 2 9" layer pans and bake 30 minutes in a 350 F. degree oven.
