Ingredients

1C butter, room temp.

1/2C sugar

2 egg yolks, slightly beaten

1t vanilla

1/2t salt

2C flour

Strawberry or Apricot preserve to jelly.

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Cream butter and sugar in mixer
  3. Add egg yolks at medium speed, one at a time until each is fully incorporated, then add vanilla. whisk flour and salt together in medium bowl
  4. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix on slow until just combined.
  5. Form 1T dough into ball about 1" in diameter. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Make a thumbprint in each ball and fill with 1/2t preserve / jelly.
  7. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  8. Remove from cookie sheet immediately and cool on wire rack.
