Ingredients

1 cup Shortening

2 cups Sugar

4 cups Flour

1 teaspoon Salt

1 cup Hot Water

2 Eggs

2 teaspoons Vanilla

1 cup Cocoa (baking)

1 cup Sour Milk (add 1 TBSP lemon juice to milk)

3 teaspoons Baking Soda

2 Egg Whites

1 tablespoon Vanilla

3 cups Powdered Sugar

4 tablespoons Flour

4 tablespoons Milk

1 1/4 cups Shortening

Preparation

COOKIES

  1. Cream shortening (1 cup), 2 cups granulated sugar, 2 eggs, 1 TBSP vanilla till creamy smooth!

  2. Mix togteher 4 cups flour, 1 cup cocoa, and 1 tsp salt

  3. Add to cream mixture and sour milk. Mix to smooth.

  4. Roll into @ 2 tablespoon sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet.

  5. Bake 7 - 9 minutes (do not overbake) Allow to cool

FILLING

  1. Cream 2 egg whites and vanilla till stiff.

  2. Add powdered sugar, 4 TBSP flour. 4 TBSP milk and 1 1/4 cups shorting till stiff,
