Ingredients

-3/4 cup moong daal

2 tablespoons oil

1 onion chopped small

-0.5 tsp salt

1 grated tomato

1tsp garlic and ginger

1tsp cumin/dhania/haldi

chilli powder

1tsp tomato puree

kari ka pata

jalapeno

dhania

garam masala powder (0.5 tsp)

lemon

Preparation

  • Take moong daal, wash it and take out the stones -Boil it in water (2-3 cups) 1/2 hour and cover lid of sufuriya and cover lid and leave half open -(separately) take oil, add onions and add salt so fry till they become golden brown
  • add garlic and ginger and kari ka patta, mix and fry till you get aroma
  • Add 1tsp cumin (jeera) powder,dhania powder and chilli powder to taste and 1tsp haldi
  • Add tomato puree :fry this and then add tomato, after has been fried then add little water.
  • When daal is ready add to this and boil.
  • Add jalapeno and dhania for garnishing
  • sprinkle garam masala powder at the end (0.5 tsp) and squeeze some lemon
